# up.RenderResult.prototype.target

**This feature is experimental**. Please [share](https://github.com/unpoly/unpoly/discussions) your experiences so we know what to keep or change.

The [target selector](https://unpoly.com/learn/targeting-fragments.md) for the rendered fragments.

When the given target contains an abstract selector like [`:main`](https://unpoly.com/api/main.md) or [`:layer`](https://unpoly.com/api/layer.md), this property describes the specific selector that matched:

```js
let result = await up.render({ target: ':main' })
result.target // result: "[up-main='']"
```

If any [`[up-hungry]`](https://unpoly.com/api/up-hungry.md) elements were added to the render pass, they are _not_ included in `result.target`.
