# up.element.remove(element)

**This feature has been deprecated**. Use [`Element#remove()`](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Element/remove) instead.

Load [`unpoly-migrate.js`](https://unpoly.com/changes/upgrading.md) to polyfill deprecated features.

Removes the given element from the DOM tree.

> #### Important
>
> This function does _not_ run [destructor functions](https://unpoly.com/learn/enhancing-elements.md#destructor) on the removed elements. For this use [`up.destroy()`](https://unpoly.com/api/up.destroy.md).
