## Timing {#timing}

By default, Unpoly will wait 400 ms for a request to finish before emitting `up:network:late`. You may configure this delay [globally](https://unpoly.com/api/up.network.config.md#config.lateDelay), for [individual links](https://unpoly.com/api/up-follow.md#up-late-delay), or for [specific requests](https://unpoly.com/api/up.request.md#options.lateDelay).

Once all responses have been received, an [`up:network:recover`](https://unpoly.com/api/up:network:recover.md) event will be emitted.

If additional requests are made while Unpoly is already busy waiting, **no** additional `up:network:late` events will be emitted.

## Default behavior {#default-behavior}

By default, Unpoly will show a [progress bar](https://unpoly.com/learn/progress-bar.md) while late requests are pending. You can [disable](https://unpoly.com/learn/progress-bar.md#disabling) the progress bar or [implement custom loading indicators](https://unpoly.com/learn/progress-bar.md#custom-implementation).
